Pelofondo - Done!
Well, that was something. In 3 hours and 10 minutes I rode for 51.63 miles! I literally cannot imagine riding 2.33 more miles, and then running a half marathon. I am glad I gave myself such a long window of time to complete this. I am not necessarily feeling like typing a blow by blow because well, it was not that exciting really during it. The last 30 minutes bordered on brutal but of course there was nothing that would stop me at that point. Last week and this week, I finished on the Hamilton ride, and there is a part near the end where Robyn talks about thinking of someone who inspires you, and it was just a boost I needed to get my head right for those last bits.
Outside of Pelofondo this past week brought a milestone in my weight loss. When setting my goal weight I picked literally the highest weight I could for a goal because I wanted to get there and stop paying for WW. Yup haha. Once you are lifetime it is free, as long as you maintain within a couple pounds of your goal weight. For me, that weight is 141 (it is based on age, height, etc). On Friday I weighed in at 134, which is 71 pounds lost. I am zeroing in on a range of weight that I feel good with and it probably is around 137-132ish. Last time I was at this weight I remember thinking to myself that I was still "soft" and wanting to do something about it, but never doing it. This time it is so easily to do because everything I need to get stronger is right within the Peloton app.
Between those two things, it was certainly a week of feeling strong and proud of myself, which was needed during a week where our capital was stormed by domestic terrorists at the direction of our President (aka insurrection). Outside of the fact that they attempted to take over the capital, the stark differences between the response to these white terrorists compared to the protestors in support of Black Lives Matter is not surprising but disgusting and really shows the truth of our country.
To end on a light note, here is a list of what I have eaten today. Here is what fueled my 50 miles and refueled me after (as of 4:30. Dinner still to come :))
