Built for it?

A couple days ago I posted on Connect (the WW social media platform) about my run, and someone shared that they had always wanted to be a runner but they didn't know if they were "built for it". I  responded and shared  about how I had thought the same thing, and yet I just tried, and I eventually ran a marathon. The next day she commented that she was going for it and was asking me about shoe recommendations. And I thought to myself, holy cow...if I could potentially inspire someone to take that leap...well thats just amazing...I thought of my blog because it was the documentation of my journey to running a marathon. Here's my smiling face after I finished:

So here I am, almost 7 years later. These last seven years are certainly something I am sure I will dig into when I write but for right now, I just want to talk about this moment.

Do you have something that you have always wanted to do but you thought "Am I built for it?" or "I could never do that". I did. I thought that about running a marathon, and yet somehow I did it. From the moment I finished my marathon my brain moved to that next "impossible" thing. I want to be a Half Ironman. Okay, if I am being really honest, I want to be an Ironman. But I truly don't think that is possible, so I am striving to be a Half Ironman by the time I am 40 (I am 34). I had literally told NO ONE, and as I shared this in a WW meeting another member, Kristen, said "You should do it. Just make a plan and do it".

Suddenly I was thinking about being active (I was not active at all at the time I shared it) and that thinking became action. On September 7 I downloaded the Peloton app and thought I would try the 30 day trial. The next day I bought a Peloton bike. At the end of November I bought a Tread+. Can you see where this is going?

Swim. Bike. Run.

I want to document this journey. Because one day when I am a Half Ironman, and I am daring to ask myself "what's next?", I want to have this to look to.

Other random things to just note about me as I start this:
